South Florida Snakehead Fishing Charters & Guides

Catching a Bullseye Snakehead in South Florida is about as close as you can get to a jungle safari through Florida  canals . These invasive Asian fish are famous for their aggressive strikes and powerful, muscular fights that test any angler’s gear.

To find them, look for stagnant or slow-moving water in the canal systems of Broward and Palm Beach counties. They love heavy cover, so aim your casts toward thick lily pads, overhanging brush, or matted vegetation.

Topwater frogs are the gold standard for snakeheads because they can be worked directly over the “slop” where these fish hide. When you see a wake trailing your lure, keep a steady retrieve until you feel the weight of the fish. Unlike bass, snakeheads have bony mouths, so you need a heavy-duty hookset to ensure the lure sticks. Once hooked, they are notorious for acrobatic leaps and death rolls that can snap light lines.

Snakehead is a must-target for any Florida freshwater enthusiast.
