In 2021, Marko Devčić, supported by his wife Casey De La Torre, founded Global Fisherman with a simple mission—to share his worldwide fishing experiences. As the community flourished, the couple realized Global Fisherman transcended one man’s adventures.
Today, Global Fisherman has evolved into a holistic lifestyle brand for fishing enthusiasts, nature lovers, travel aficionados, altruists, and those who cherish the art of living.

Meet Marko & Casey
Marko, a retired professional wrestler from Belgrade, Serbia, became a fitness director on luxury cruise ships. Casey, a Miami native, is a writer and media professional. They met on a cruise ship in Miami in 2019, fell in love, endured a long-distance relationship during the early pandemic days, and eventually chose Belgrade as their home, where they were married in 2021. And yes, Marko sported a fishing rod on their wedding day for the purpose of a photo, with Casey’s encouragement. 🙂
Despite considering themselves global citizens, they currently live in Miami and regurlarly travel between Europe and the U.S. each year, accompanied by their cherished dog Nina, whom they love dearly.
